How Much Would Spend on an Outing?

I was listening to the Bob and Sheri this morning. I heard Bob say that he had a friend who spent $5,000 to see the Panthers play in the Superbowl. $5,000!!!! Can you believe it?
Bob was questioning Sheri if she would ever spend $5,000 to go to a show, concert, or anything that she really wanted to see. Sheri said she wouldn’t.
$5,000?!!? Seriously? I am still blown away when I hear stuff like this. I would have to be a millionaire to even consider blowing money like that. Even then, I’d probably still feel totally guilty about the starving children in the world I could have saved.
This makes me curious . . . what’s the most you’ve ever spent on an outing? I’m not talking a vacation. (Well, I wouldn’t even spend $5,000 on a vacation.) Or how much would you consider spending? Do you have a limit? Inquiring minds want to know.

Karen you are right 5000 is a very big amount and i do not listen to bob and sherri and how often they go on vacation- but your question made me think about my situation – I live more than 4000 miles away from my family and if i have go see them with my hubby, the total cost of this trip will be more than 5000 because only each flight will cost me 2000$
Though We haven’t made that trip since we got married and right now we are freaking out even by the thoughts of it. But we have to do it.
So the point is, if the trip/vacation is high on my priority level ( parents= priority) I will spend 5000 but not on some wearing hula mumbo jumbo.
Years ago, I spent $500 for two tickets to see my favorite band front row. Now, I don’t buy tickets if they’re over $50 for two of them!
I don’t know if I could spend $5000 on anything other than a car or house. LOL
I wouldn’t spend a lot of money on myself. I would spend it on others though. For instance, last year I bought my boyfriend tickets to the UFC in Columbus, OH. They cost me $400 + hotel and the gas to drive there. He did buy dinner. =) I would NEVER, not in a million years, spend that money on myself for something like that.
