I’ve created a post at unpluggedliving.com (human powered laundry spinner) about Dave and his DIY Human Powered Laundry Spinner.  I said to myself, “I need to cross-post this at simplythrifty because this is a nice and thrifty way to spin dry your clothes.   And you don’t need electricity to run it.  Just plain old pedal power.

Dave even got the spinner free from a broken washing machine.   Check it out.

Reminds me of an article on ‘pedal power’ in Mother Earth News back in the 70s-80s. Seems like a really good way to save money and get your exercise all at the same time.

Yes it is. I really love it when people “invent” such things. Thanks for the comment Bellen. :-)

Have you seen the ad for HGTV’s ‘Living with Ed’ series? Ed Begley Jr is an environmentalist, his wife is not so much. One scene shows him riding an ‘energy producing bike’ – his comment “I’m making toast”. Series starts after the Rose Bowl Parade – can’t wait.
