I can’t believe the gas prices!
My family and I would like to thank you for all your prayers and concerns due to Hurricane Ike. They are fine. We still haven’t heard from one sister but I am sure she is fine. Turns out, I had to literally pay a price yesterday for Ike as well! $5.39 to be exact. Yep, you read it right.
Yesterday, when I went to work, the price for a gallon of gas was $3.49. When I got off 14 hours later
, gas was $5.39 per gallon. Can anyone say gas gouge!!!!!!!!!
What about you? Did you see a raking of gas prices?

Before the hurricane season started, the federal govt. implemented a committee to stop gouging. I’m not sure how to get in touch with them, but I’m sure a google search would turn up something.
We’re in Southern Louisiana, and there are “price checkers” making sure that there is absolutely no gouging done.
I would report whichever gas stations were doing this. They face a hefty fine.
Wow, Kelly! That’s quite a hike in prices. I thought it was bad here. It was $3.52, but later I had to pay $3.78. Some places had already gone up to $4+, but I was thankful and irritated to get it for $3.78.
Lindsey: Here’s a link with more info about price gouging. There’s also a link for reporting the gouging.

Here in Huntsville it was the same thing. Gas went from $3.49 to up to $4.79 by the end of the day. The gas station we always use because they are always way cheaper was sold out yesterday. Today they had it for $3.69, much cheaper than the other places. Yesterday the lines at places were over an hour long, and some were only accepting cash. It was ridiculous. Of course, today things are back to normal.
