Thrifty Mommy

Is Sam’s club really thrifty

Ok.  I went to Sam’s club the other day and I can’t decide if a membership is worth the $40.  Will I really save enough to justify driving the 6 miles out of my way to get there when Wal-Mart is 2 miles from my house and I pass by it daily?  What do you think?  Vote on the poll.

I guess it depends on how much stuff you buy. You can really save a lot of money on electronics, mattresses, formula, milk, and such. When I lived there, Sam’s was on my way home from work, so I would stop there frequently (plus I had no kids to get in and out of the carseats). We don’t go to Sam’s very often now, but the membership does seem to be worth the money.

You can save more than the membership, but I found I purchased stuff just because it was a good deal. Spending money you don’t have to spend is not frugal or thrifty.

Our Sam’s Club has gas and around us has the cheapest gas prices. So I think I save enough in gas alone for the membership to be worth it.

Sam’s Club has the cheapest gas prices on the other side of town. Thankfully, the gas in my area is 5 cents cheaper per gallon than Sam’s. I’ve heard some bad stuff about their gas anyway. Have you ever had problems with their gas? Thanks for stopping by Lucy!

Thanks, Ladies. We will probably do it just because we can save on diapers and wipes. Seems like a lot more are in our future:)
