Let your voice be heard
I am usually not one for political nuances, but I seem to be having a disagreement with a few bloggers and want to get some help here. If you or your family member is a proud service man or woman serving in the military and are glad to be serving under this administration, please sign your name and station in the comments section. I would like for all the world to know that we are proud of our country. Thank you for speaking up.

Our family is not currently serving, but my husband, father, and father-in-law all served time in the military. My brother-in-law still serves as a reservist. We are extremely proud of the service they gave for our freedom and support and appreciate all who serve and sacrifice fo us today!
One of my brothers proudly served 5 years with the USMC and at least 2 more are chomping at the bit. All our grandfather’s gladly served. And even my preschool age children already know that there is no one that deserves more honor than one who is willing to lay down their life for another. God bless the men and women who honor this country with their lives!
We are a proud military family. My husband has served two tours in Iraq. Thank you to everyone for their support of the military.
Although my husband is no longer in the service, he served in the Persian Gulf War in the 90s. My grandfather was also a Marine. I have an uncle that is a retired Marine, another uncle that served in the Air Force, my best friend’s husband is in the Air Force, one of my cousins just returned from Iraq, and my husband’s best friend is in Iraq right now. My dad’s dad also served, but I’m not sure which branch. I’ll have to ask. Anyway, I come from a family of servicemen and I am very thankful and grateful for our military that are willing to serve and sacrifice for us.
I am very proud to have served under G. Bush Sr., and would be just as proud to serve under his son. They both have lead our country with honor and respect, and almost any serviceman will tell you that. I was in the Marines when Clinton was elected, and noone I spoke with in the military knew how or why he was elected, and noone wanted to serve under his misguided leadership. I know that sounds one sided, but it is fact. I am proud of our military, and am proud of our president, who is not perfect, but is honest. Honesty goes a LONG way in my book.
My husband is an Army Vet having served in Desert Storm. I’ve had grandfathers and uncles who served in each generation.
As far as this administration – I’ve said I’d break my son’s legs or send them to my mother in Canada before I’d let them fight under this administration. I’ve no use for this administration or their purpose.
I am however, very proud of the men and women who defend our freedom and will stand behind them regardless of who commands them.
while i have raised many children, up until 4 1/2 years ago, i never had a son. i am now the very, very proud preadopt mother of an 8 year old son and an 11 month old son. i’m a single mother raising them on my own. i will and am doing everything in my power to raise them to be “men of honor; respect and worth”….to worship trust in God..to be hard workers so that someday they will be awsome providers… to treat girls/women with respect; kindness; and honor so that someday they will be awsome husbands….to know how to handle; care for and love younger siblings some that someday they will be awsome fathers….to learn and follow his cubscout promise;”I, Tyler, promise to do my best, to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people, and to obey the law of the pack”….i love my little boys with all my heart and soul. the very thought of them having to go off to war at some point in their lives gives me cold chills….but…they must do their duty to God and their country…and serve PROUDLY…regardless of what administration we happen to be under at the time…so that we can all continue to enjoy the freedom this great country of ours has to offer. i would encourage any of my daughters that felt the calling to the military to do the same.
i have several nephews serving under this administration and they are proud to do so…and i am thankful to have such wonderful young men protecting what some take for granted.
I’m proud to have served in the Army. However, I (and my husband) deployed twice within two years, leaving two babies with family for 18 months. I do not agree with this administration, and I feel that the American public is being lied to on a daily basis.
While numerous members of my family are serving or have served under this administration, and they proudly represent the US, they do not always agree with the administration, its choices or its high ranking officials. IOW– proud of the US, not of Bush.
BTW– I work as a civilian for the Army, and many of my civilian friends are currently serving in these wars as well. People always think it is our service men and women alone, but they have a lot of support from civilians over there helping them on the ground.
I am “proud” of individuals who risk their lives to help others. I am thankful to live in a country where we have freedom to worship, clean water, plenty of food, opportunity, but I would have to say that, no, I am not proud of our country. I honor the Lord above all else. This country just happens to be where I live. Everything else, I do for His glory.
Thank you all for your comments. Let’s keep them coming.
My husband currently serves, and has for over 12 years. I’m very proud to be a military family. Quite frankly, I get really annoyed at all the people who keep trying to “help support” the military by crying about this administration and this war and how we need to “bring our boys home”. No one wants them home more than we do, the spouses and children of the men (and women) who are over there. My husband is leaving soon for his third deployment in 2 years, and he will be gone a year. I’m sick to death of the lopsided media coverage and the people who throw out these simplistic solutions without doing their homework on what is really happening in the world. There are no, repeat NO simple answers. We live in a global world and we can’t just walk out of this war. It’s selfish and self absorbed to not take the time to think about what will happen to that country if we leave it. I’m frustrated with hearing the “educated liberals” who can’t seem to help being unconsciously condescending when speaking of the military and military families as if we were all simple minded and being led blindly over a cliff because we were too naive to think for ourselves. Do we agree with all the decisions of our CEO? Not always. Do you agree with all the decisions of your CEO? Do you like other people who don’t live your life or work at your company weighing in with their opinions of what you should do and how the company should be run?
And for those who think the world would be better off without the military – I just wonder who you would call first if something happened in your local neighborhood. Did I hear you say the police? Hmm… So would you be upset if there were no police? Do you believe that we don’t need local police? Because from top to bottom, that’s what you are saying when you say you believe we don’t need the military because people are kind and good natured at heart and will behave well in all circumstances.
I am a proud daughter and even prouder wife the the men in my family. Dad served in 3 wars and my husband has just retired with 21 yrs of service. My biggest pet peeve is the lack of respect we show our Commander in Chief, George W. Bush is the President of the Greatest nation in the world and the News media and late nite talk shows refer to him without his due respect. I don’t care if you don’t agree with the man but there should be respect for the office he holds.
Currently my Army granddaughter is serving in Balad, Iraq while her hubby is in Tikrit, Iraq. They wear their uniform proudly and say that we as a nation do not hear the progress and good that the USA is doing. They support Pres Bush all the way.
My son-in-law served in the Navy for 12 years and is now in the Air National Guard, my husband was Navy during Viet Nam, his brothers were in Air Force & Army…are we an extraordinary family, NO! We realize that freedom is never free…and tomorrow my husband walks as a Vet in the Memorial Day Parade to honor those that gave the full measure while the son-in-law will give both the convocation and benediction for the Memorial Service in his town.
Our country was blessed that President George W Bush, a true American of Faith, was in office when 9-11 happened so that we reacted as a strong Nation rather than continue to wimper and bend backwards from the enemy until we break.
Both my father and husband are vets and while we all support the military 100%, we’re so grateful they didn’t have to serve under the 2nd Bush admin.
Thank you Josie, and I agree with you! Thank your family for their sacrifices so that my kids can play in the yard with no fear.
My husband is in the army and we are currently stationed in Kaiserslautern Germany. We just got orders that he will head to Afghanistan in a few months. I am SO proud to be the wife of a soldier. Our daughter is blessed to have such a brave daddy.
My husband is in the Air Force and I couldn’t be more proud!!!
My husband has been serving in the Air Force for 16 years and I am very proud of him. He is a deployment manager for his unit and just deployed 27 men and women to fight overseas. These were volunteers who wanted to go! I am proud of him and everyone who sacrifices for this country.
My father served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
One of my brothers served 1980-2003; retired Air Force.
Another brother serves in Air Force since 1986 and is stationed in MO.
My nephew is Air Force in Georgia; served since 2002.
Ex-father-in-law retired Air Force.
Ex-husband is Air Force in CA; served since 1987.
Ex-brother-in-law is Air Force in NC; served since 1992.
Ex-fiance served in Army for 10 years.
Can’t think of anyone else at this moment.
My brother returned from 18 months in Iraq last August. My other brother will be heading out for a 1-year stint next week (also in Iraq). My uncle served in Desert Storm. Another uncle was in the Marines, and another uncle was in the coast guard. My grandpa was in the Navy in WWII. In fact, my family has had someone in every major armed conflict this country has had. I have cousins in the Navy, Army, and Marines. I strongly support everything these men and women do for us.
It is a shame that you felt the need to push the deserved respect that the brave men and women that serve in our military (past and present),and needed to make it a misguided representation of support for a man that led us to war with lies. Then same man that threatened (before a veto proof vote) to veto a bill to improve pay and benefits for these same proud and honorable men and women.
Of course you are free to say it as you wish, thanks to the these men and women, as I am to disagree. But none of it has anything to do our current commander-in-chief.
JayMonster, I am so glad you visit but I am so sorry you are so angry and bitter. And you are right. I am glad we can publically disagree.
