Low Fat Chocolate Chip Cookie Dessert

I’ve had this recipe before using regular cookies and whipped topping, but I recently discovered that there is a low fat version. This dessert is super easy to make. When you’re going to a potluck dinner, take this dish along. You’ll know you can eat it and it’s yummy so others will like it too!

You will need:
1 cup skim milk
1 package reduced fat chocolate chip cookies
1 container fat free whipped topping
9×13 dish

You will layer this dessert like a lasagna. First, dunk your cookies in the milk very quickly. After you dunk each one, put it in the pan for your bottom layer. You will use almost 1 sleeve of cookies for this. Next, top the cookie layer with about 1/2 of the whipped topping and spread evenly. Then comes another cookie layer and another whipped topping. You will probably have about 4-5 cookies left over. Crush them and sprinkle on top of the dessert. Chill for a few hours or overnight. Yummy! :D

I love this dessert. And it’s so easy.

Make this with chocolate wafer cookies arranged in a loaf shape. slice on the diagonal and you have an instant 7 or 8 or whatever layer cake that looks like you spent hours. Be sure to completely cover the outside with topping and leave in refrigerator covered for 12-24 hours. No need to dip cookies. Can also be done with graham crax and topping to which you have added 2 Tbsp cocoa thoroly mixed.

  3. Skim milk is actually thrifty if you can get your family to make the switch. Here in Wisconsin, skim is 50 cents a gallon cheaper on average then whole milk. It adds up when you family consumes a lot of milk- we use 5 to 7 gallons a week at a savings of over $2.50 or more a week. Minimally we save $130 by drinking skim a year. But I realize some people can’t get past the taste of skim, my Mom is one of them.

For Choclate lovers, use fat free choclate jello instead of the whipped cream.

Sarah, as I am reading your comment I am eating reduced fat chocolate chip cookies. lol I also heard that you can make this with Oreos, but I’m not much of an Oreo fan. Thanks for letting the readers know though! :)

You can ask any of my friends, I am not a seweet toothed person. But please don’t pass anything salty in front of me if you want any left.
However, there is nothing better than 3-4 double stuffed oreos with at least 2% milk. I don’t care how fattening it is! I am willing to work off those calories no problem!
