My Free Tree is Here!

Sometimes when I mention free stuff around the web it seems we all sign up, but then nothing happens. Thank goodness that wasn’t the case with the free trees.

Remember the free trees? Last May I turned you on to a promotion for trees. It was sponsored by Double Tree hotels in hopes of getting us all to plant trees for a more beautiful earth. It had been so long I almost forgot about my free tree, but during the Christmas break, a package came. Inside was a seedling for a Northern Red Oak. We hope to get it in the ground in the next couple of weeks.

Not only did this freebie pan out, but it was a very, very cool freebie. I always go for the offers for free plants, trees, seeds and bulbs. Anything that beautifies the world is a free gift that keeps giving!

  1. My husband and I got a cedar tree from the program. Planting it has been on our to-do list for the last week. Maybe this weekend it will get planted. I sure hope it doesn’t mind.

I signed up for this before I knew about this blog, but I received a Northern Red Oak, too. Mine actually had two in the package, so maybe I’ll have one on each side of the yard in a few years. I love red leafed trees. The only problem is my yard is too frozen to plant them. They’ll have to go into a pot.
