Thrifty Mommy

Netscape has me blocked

Thrifty Mommy tries our best to bring you accurate, relevant information that helps you save time and money.  If our views and information helps you, then we feel that we have done something worth while.

If you are familiar with blogging at all, then you know that Netscape is a great source for ideas and information that you can locate with ease.  Social networking is a great way to get concise information while finding relevant articles easily.  So when I tried to submit an article to Netscape, you can imagine how disappointed I was when I found out they had banned Thrifty Mommy as a spam URL!  In the famous words of Quincy from “Little Einstines”, “I can not believe it!!!”

Then the kicker came when I contacted tech support for help.  I was talking to an online tech support person when I got disconnected.  They kept trying to find out how I logged on to Netscape.  So I got back on and was hooked up with another CS Rep.  He asked me if I paid for the IS part of Netscape or used it for email and I said no.  I don’t have netscape for my email nor do I pay for finding information and submitting stories.  The guy actually told me that he could only help me if I was a paying customer and then disconnected.

I was SHOCKED!  So much for real customer service these days.  Not using their email was why I was so surprised to be labeled spam.  I hate spam and would never intentionally subject anyone to it.  So I will again participate in their voting process to help others, but it will be a while.  They shot theirselves in the foot yesterday!

Wow. I’m impressed you took the time to call them. I hope they get their act together soon.

Great post, Kelly. I was working on one about this issue, when I saw yours posted. I hope we get this resolved. I know Hsien has been graciously trying to help with this matter, but her efforts have been unfruitful as well.

Thrifty Mommy would never been involved in any kind of spam. I’m not sure how we were labeled too. I’m wondering if it was some kind of error. It only takes the small click from a mouse to mess things up.

sorry to hear that. Hope they get their act together!

  1. [...] One of our sites has somehow been classified as spam. See the post by the blogger here. She’s tried contacting them. I’ve tried contacting them. We keep getting shut out, and for no good reason. Here’s an excerpt from the post: Then the kicker came when I contacted tech support for help.
