Out of Milk

milk

So we’re out of milk but I know if I go to the store I’ll end up spending about $40. No, we don’t buy expensive milk. It’s just that there are some good sales going on today and I like to stock up on good bargains. Even though I know it’s saving money in the long run, I always feel guilty after going to the market for one little thing and coming home with the my trunk filled with bags.

Stick to the list, Deb. Stick to the list.

    Little reusable bags, right?

I know, I feel the same way. My husband is diabetic so we always need to go to the more expensive grocery store to pick up the low carb treats for him (he’s addicted to this sugar free pound cake). It’s easier to then buy everything else I need there too. I’m wondering if a BJ’s membership would pay off or whether it would just encourage us to impulse buy in bulk things we don’t need…

There’s nothing wrong with being Cheap, it’s not illegal either.

@Diana - It depends. I have to start keeping one in the car for when I forget.

@Mandy - I wonder the same thing. I’d like to try Costco but I think it’s just inviting trouble.

@Greg - You’re right. Although I think some people get a bit carried away and obsessive with their thriftiness. I do believe you should enjoy life - and sometimes that may mean spending a little extra.

Never go to the grocery on an empty stomach or without a list.
