Paying for Christmas in quarters

christmas-presents.jpgNow that Christmas is nearing and I am thinking about the bills, or the lack of, come January, I have come to a conclusion…

Made you click, didn’t I?!?! I love saving coins. I love rolling them even more. But I am always dipping into the cookie jar to get change for something. I might want a candy bar or am craving a taco and don’t want to spend my money so I raid the cookie jar. But next year, I am going to forgo the quarters. I am going to have a special jar for just quarters. At the end of the year, I will roll the quarters and pay for Christmas with my change. This kind of budgeting will take a lot of will power on my part. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I pay for stuff in change all the time! People always comment that I must be a huge casino gambler or something and I just say that I like to use ALL my money. I mean it’s still worth something right? I paid for a dress in dimes once and got the strangest looks. It’s a cool feeling when you walk out of the store feeling like you didn’t spend anything! I’ll be curious to see how your quarters project goes…Thanks for the great discussions on being thrifty!

Paid for a dress in dimes. hahahha. I got cash the change in and then buy the dress. Unless it’s a thrift store dress. Then all bets are off.

That’s not a half bad idea. Will have to try that too!
