Singing for Our Ice Cream

Today after running some errands, I treated my son to ice cream. While standing at the counter my son noticed a sign that said there was 10% discount if you sing. He asked the teenager behind the counter if he could sing a song and the teen told him to go for it. So my obviously not shy six year old sang “Supercalifragelisticexpealidocius.” The manager came out to listen and my son got a nice applause. There was no one else in the shop, but it was cute anyway. Plus we got a discount on our ice cream.

I don’t know if I’d ever sing like that, but with my son around, we’re sure to always get a discount.

Hey, I’ve been known to belt out a tune or two for a discount. In high school I took my girlfriend out for her birthday and when they brought the dessert out they said if I sang it would be free. I got up to sing and they all went back to work and said, go ahead, sing – we never said we’d sing with you!

After making a complete fool of myself they brought the check and said the dessert was going to be free anyway, they just like to see if people will really do it.

  2. That is gorgeous.
I bet that made the staff’s day.
~They probably went home & told their families about it too. :)

Very cute! I have a terrible voice but for 10% off I might even sing for my ice cream!
