So Thankful!

Wednesday I took my daughter and some boys (from the ministry where we work) to school. We drove through the drop off line and Alligator’s teacher was there waiting. My window was down and Alligator hollered out to me. I told her I loved her and she walked up the steps to the school. Then one of the boys in the back said he couldn’t get his seatbelt undone.
I hopped out of the van and went to the back to try to help the boy get out of his seatbelt. I didn’t have any immediate luck, so I asked one of the school staff if the maintenance man could help me and I told them I would park the van. As I was getting ready to pull forward, Alligator screamed. She was standing beside the window of my door. She knew I was getting ready to pull forward and she screamed to let me know she was there.
All of that happened in just a few seconds. If I had pulled forward just a few seconds earlier, I wouldn’t have seen her over the hood of the 15 passenger van.
It makes me sick to my stomach to think about all of this. I am so incredibly grateful that God protected her and allowed her to stay with us for a while longer.
Let’s take a few minutes to love on our children and also to be more aware and cautious of our surroundings.

Thankfully she is alright. It really makes you think just how easy it is for life to take a different turn. Hopefully it was a good enough scare for you to pass on the word to take a few minutes and check out your vehicles before moving.
My heart goes into my throat when I hear of close calls like this. I’m so glad God protected everyone in this situation!
I know you are thankful!!!
So glad it turned out this way instead of being a tragedy!
Oh, Karen. I got sick to my stomach just reading it! I am so thankful that you and Alligator are ok. Just another example that you are where you should be. Hang in there and know that you are being prayed for.
