Sweets for my sweets
When I give my kids candy, it usually is either Welch’s Fruit snacks or something like that. Her cookies are fig newtons or animal crackers. I thought I was doing pretty good. I say all this because my sister gave me the ultimate complement on Saturday. You have to understand … I have always grown up thinking my sister was prettier, smarter, quicker, more popular, etc… I was the typical little sister. She is also a great mom. So when she told me that she rewarded her son with candy, I figured we were on the same wave length. But she gave her son M&M’s and such for potty candy. I only give Turkey Butt 3-4 pieces each time. She evidently gave her son a little more than that. Her cookies are regular sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, etc.. So for her to tell me that I was doing great with the whole treat thing with my kids, I felt like the best mom ever! She is a fab mom and I guess I might be learning her traits. Thanks, Sis.

I grew up in a home where the smell of fresh baked cookies when I came home from school was in the air. I am the same mom now- and I realize I have taught my children that sweets make us feel happy, and warm and cuddly…. not salads. Drat! It happened before I new what I was doing. Now when I make their school lunches they expect a “treat”. Luckily I found KidsLunchBoxCards. They replace the treat at least a couple of times a week- and my kids are crazy for them. Congratulations on your sisters compliment, though I am sure you are a wonderful mother without them!
