Each week in the Sunday paper, there are coupons for A.C. Moore & Michael’s.  I have decided to start using these towards Christmas presents for the kids.

My friend Karen told me how much she loves the Crayola Color Wonder for her kids.  They take it to church and her kids can color and she doesn’t have to worry about them getting the marker ink on anything but the paper. 

I decided that the Crayola Color Wonder would be a great addition to our bag that we take into restaurants and church.  Last week I went to Michael’s and used the 50% off coupon that was in the paper to purchase the first Color Wonder.  I paid $4.50 for it instead of the usual price of $9.  I also told my mom about this idea for the kids and she used her 50% off coupons to purchase extra color wonder tablets at her Michael’s for $3 each (reg $6).

While I was there, I noticed that Michael’s had their 16 oz Rich Art washable paint for 1/2 price, 99 cents each.  I picked up three bottles for the kids.  Since Cuddlebug isn’t in a preschool program, I’ve been trying to do some art projects with him.

This week Michael’s had a 40% coupon in the paper.  I went by there today (while I was out running errands – no gas wasted!!!) and got a Crayola painting tablet for $2.99 instead of the normal $4.99.  I also used A.C. Moore’s 40% coupon to get some decorations for cupcakes I was making for a baby shower.

Next week I plan to pick up another color wonder kit.  I’ll probably get the Princess one.  Then after that in the following weeks, I hope to pick up some things for other children in my extended family.

I had to stop at A.C. Moore to get some things for school.  While I was there I found medium sized gift bags 3 for $1.00.  They were regularly 75 cents each.  I got these for the kids to decorate for their Mother’s Day gifts we’ll be making this week.

Then I stopped at Lifeway Christian Store for a David Crowder cd I’d been wanting.  I was glad to find a great clearance section while I was there.  They had Resurrection Eggs 75% off!  I bought some for $3.73.

While at Lifeway I needed to pick up an anniversary card for my hubby and I noticed Dayspring was running a special.  If I bought 3 cards, I could get a cute tote bag for $5.97.  I already needed 1 card for hubby, so I picked up a few extra cards that I needed later this month.  I’ll probably keep the tote bag for myself.   :)

I also bought a children’s cd for my kids.  The cd was on sale for $5, regularly priced $14.98.  Usually, every month Lifeway runs a children’s cd and/or a dvd for $5.  It’s a perfect time to get a new one.

Well, that’s my thrifty shopping trip.  I normally don’t spend money like that, but every now and then it’s ok to splurge.
