The New Lifestyles Channel

In case you haven’t noticed, the previous b5 Family & Relationships Channel has merged with the Home and Dining Channel and the Arts and Design Channel. We are now the Lifestyles Channel. We are now sporting a whopping 48 blogs in our channel. Check out the list in the sidebar to the right. There is something for everyone there.

Remember the yummy recipe for Oriental Ramen Noodle Salad? Well, I made it again Wednesday for another church dinner. I was glad that there was a little left over for me to take home for lunch.

I was pleased today to find that Deborah from b5’s Simply Thrifty has compiled a list of 50 Things to Do with Ramen Noodles. Needless to say, I didn’t know people were using them for a spa treatment. Great list, Deborah.

b5media Launches New Music Channel

b5media just announced the start of it’s 14th channel, the music channel. There are 21 blogs focused on a wide variety of genres and geographical locations. Now there are more then 230 blogs in the b5 network.

Psycho for Love has just joined the Family and Relations channel

Quite the interesting blog for the Family and relations channel, but I wanted to introduce you to an interesting blog at b5. Psycho for Love has just interested the arena of b5media this month and I am excited to announce that you will find only the twisted there. It has a nice twist for the insane without making you mad. Ashtyn does a great job of letting you in on all the crazy love triangles that should/should not make the news. It’s one fo those blogs that tells all about how passion can make you insane and why you might do the stupidest things about it. Not to mention all the crazy people that you DON’T want to be like. So if you get a chance, welcome Ashtyn and check out Psycho for Love. You will feel better about all your old lovers when you read it. HAHA!

b5media breaks the 200 blog mark

Way to go, b5media! I am so proud to belong to the fastest growing blog network around. In late 2005, b5media started with just 5 blogs and now look at us! As you can see, there is a whole range of blogs from business to Paris Hilton to us here at Thrifty Mommy. You don’t get a bigger range than that. I am so proud to let you in on the secret that we have finally broken the 200 blog mark here.

I thought I would let you in on a few of my fave b5 sites. I love them all, but just can’t read them all in one day so I have to pick a few to follow on a daily basis. Sorry if you didn’t make the list but I love you anyway!

Important Things to Teach Our Children

Char at Weary Parent posted a list of 13 things we need to teach our children. Here are a few that I like:

We all make mistakes and can learn from them. [I'd like to add we can learn from other's mistakes too!!!]
Not all gratification is instant. Some things are worth the wait.
How to deal with bullies, mean people, and rude people

I think Char has a pretty good list. To the list I’d like to add, “The world does not revolve around you.” That may sound harsh, but in my years of teaching I have met quite a few along the way that acted like the world revolved around them. They are impatient, whiny, demanding, and insensitive to others, and I have to say a total pain to be around.

Here is a famous quote that we should all live by, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

I normally don’t suggest that you vote on just anything but our very own Jeremy Wright is having a rough time in a great face-off battle with a competitive blogging network.
