1) Check consignment stores or thrift stores for maternity clothes. One day I saw a bunch of nice maternity clothes at Good Will. Check your local store a few times as donations will come in regularly. Also, see if you can borrow some from a friend. You probably won’t wear them that long anyway. Another place to look is ebay.
2) Register for your shower. People will be more likely to get you what you need. Also, if you are registered at Target, they have a more flexible return policy.

Buying baby furniture on sale

OK, so we are going to splurge and get our little man some new furniture tomorrow. The furniture is on sale at Baby Depot until the end of the month but if we wait too long, the little addition to the family will be here before his room is. What does this have to do with being thrifty? Easy. You have to give the pregnant woman some room. I want the nursery to be set up and all the clothes put away before our little miracle comes home. This post is a little personal but you guys are my friends. I know we are supposed to leave our stresses to God to take care of but every once in a while, this thrifty mommy can actually get a little worried for just a minute. Hope at the end of our new baby tunnel

There is light at the end of the tunnel! My husband and have had some major breakthroughs this week that have dropped my stress level and makes me a much better mommy to be around.
I know that when the new baby gets here, my daughter will regress alittle. But I was very excited to see that she dirtied her diaper and then took it off for me to clean. The taking off part was a little funny but she is finally becoming aware of her bowels. This means that potty training is around the corner. YEAH!! One less set of …read more
