I just thought I would let you in on a little secret. Not all baby shower gifts were created equal. I recently had a baby shower and got a lot of great gifts. I was appreciative of everything because I got exactly what I needed. Most of the people there had either had children or were at my first baby shower 2 years ago so they knew what I needed. I also had my friends put on the baby shower invitations that diapers and wipes were the main thing I needed.

Amazon has a list out by saadia gives a pretty thorough list of frugal baby shower gifts. I agree with most of them except the diaper champ. I love mine and for the most part, never smell anything. I do, however, cheat and use deodorant bags from Hefty. I love lists!

There are tons of parent and family groups out there. I am enjoying a new parenting site. Check out minti.com . There are all kinds of advice and a great community to join and have fun with. There are articles about anything from babysitting to sleeping all night to parties. You can even add your 2 cents in.

Baby Shower gifts on a budget.

It seems to me that there are a lot of pregnant women out there. In my church alone, there were 15 pregnant women due in the first 8 months of 2006. That is a lot of baby showers. The good thing is I am not invited to all of them. But I do have 4 baby showers coming up that I know of and hopefully 2 more coming soon. My favorite thing to shop for is baby shower gifts. Personalized burp clothes can be cheap

My sister sent me adorable, personalized burp clothes for my little girl. I never thought about them before but when I finally took her to the nursery at church, I was very grateful for her monogram to be on her burp cloth. Not to mention that they are totally precious!
