My husband and I did not take lightly the purchase of a car seat for our children.  We carefully scrutinized the reviews from Consumer Reports and we took our list with us to the stores to compare prices and longevity of the car seats.  Finally we decided on the Alpha Omega.  Even at the big price of $150, we knew that we would were getting our money’s worth because the car seat goes up to 80 lbs.

I was quite surprised when I saw the Alpha Omega on sale at Big Lots this week for only $80.  Wow!  That’s a super deal!

]]> We talk all the time about safety issues with our kids. But have you ever thought about how safe you are in the car? We would never dream of putting our kids in the car without making sure they are safe. Let me ask you a quesiton. How often do you lean your seat back? There was a great article at Slate.com on the dangers of adults reclining their seat. Guess I will try to sleep upright for a while. Keeping yourself safe from injury is the thriftiest way to save money in the first place.

]]> car seat.jpgSome of you want to know a little more about me and my family so I thought I might give some updates on my family and friends on a more regular basis. My little girl is 14 months and adorable! Of course, I am partial. Things she hates are her naps and her car seat. I hate to admit it, but my DH and I spent too much money, $300 on 2, on her new convertible car seats. We were trying to get her a more comfortable seat in hopes that she wouldn’t scream when she sees my car, much less when I try to get her buckled in. YUCK! I don’t think it helped much but she has the Cadillac of car seats next to a Britax. I am totally willing to admit when we do well and when we don’t with money. Stay tuned for more to come.
