Consignment Sale success!
Ok, so I went shopping today and yesterday. Our consignment sale was today. I even got a lead on 2 more sales coming up. Yeah!! What a great time of the year to shop.
So I went shopping this weekend and I splurged!
23 pieces at around $3 per piece. Some of the outfits still had the tags on them and were all name brands like Gap and Children’s Place. They included a jogging outfit, Old Navy jeans, PJ’s, shoes, and …read more

Do you ever get a tingly feeling inside from when you get stupendous thrifty deals? I went shopping today and got some great deals. Of course, I had to share the good news with my thrifty moms.
Today I stopped by the consignment store to drop off another tote. (I am pleased that we are getting rid of all our baby and children’s things. I’ve been taking in a tote about every week.) While I was there I saw they were having 75% off their winter clothing. Wow! What a deal!
Consignment store prices are usually pretty good. Sometimes there are items …read more

I believe that success stories are good for motivation. We can read all we want about how to save money. It’s a great reminder. But sometimes, we need success stories to let us see that the battle is won in the every day successes.
In my home town, there is a great consignment sale that occurs twice a year. I got some great deals this past weekend. My girlfriend, however, ROCKED! Here are her great deals to spur you on to greatness as well.
A Graco swing for $6
Glider and ottoman for $10
Co-sleeper/ pack-n-play for $45 (babydepot has if for $159.99)

Consignment Shopping is once again the popular thing to do.
You know my favorite place to shop for my little girl is the local Once Upon a Child stores here in town. I just can’t see paying full price for clothes that she is only going to wear for 4-5 months if I am lucky. I also like it when I am justified by a news article form around the country. There was an article published in both Austin and Dallas that agrees with me. When you have the option of gently used vs brand new, I certainly don’t mind mixing one or two pieces new with the bulk of …read more

My sister, Whitney (I just love her name), isn’t as fortunate as we bargain shoppers with consignment stores are. There just aren’t as many options for her in resale as there is for me. So she is always talking about her Carter’s outlet near her house. Well, I got to see her outfits and pajamas that she bought my niece on sale. She says she paid no more than $7 for the PJ’s so I went today to look and see. The clothes were adorable as all Carter’s stuff is. I even got some onezies for next year. 24-month onezies …read more

My DD loves to be read to. Most kids do. But when you go to a bookstore, you are guaranteed to pay at least $6 or more for one book. My girlfriend called me today and said that our local library is having a book sale and is selling children’s books for $.50. I am so excited to go and see what they have. My DH and I were just talking about needing to get her some new books since we have read all of her books to her hundreds of times already. I can go to Amazon and get …read more

OK. So I am weird. I love to save money. I also love to get my daughter the cutest clothes without having to go back to work full time to pay for it. That being said… I am really excited about an upcoming event in my area. There is a great consignment sale that happens twice a year. Last fall, I got my daughter, K, 9 winter outfits and a nice high chair for $20.60. You just can’t beat that! I am looking forward to this Spring’s event. Take advantage of …read more
