A free Mother’s Day craft that is beautiful and easy
Although her contest is over, Sarah over at Mommy are the toys on sale has a great and very frugal idea for a craft for Mother’s Day. She has a great recipe for beautiful dryer lint plaques. You don’t get any cheaper than spending absolutely no money at all on a wonderful Mother’s Day gift. Well, you do have to buy an all purpose sealer, but if you do crafts anyway, you might have that on hand already. I don’t want to steal her thunder so if you like the picture, go over and check her Mother’s Day craft out. …read more

Usually when a holiday comes around, I do at least one post on fun activities to do with your kids. Yes, I did post A Natural Way to Dye Eggs, but I didn’t give you a whole list of ideas. I’m sorry. I’m not quite sure what happened this time.
Thankfully, my friend Revka at “Little Fun; Little Learning” has done a post of Easter ideas. If you’re looking for something to do with the kids, you might want to head over there. Plus, I completed my first guest blogger post at her site, so you might want to take a …read more
Thrifty Kid’s Springtime Craft Idea

This week at preschool we learned about the weather. To go along with the weather theme, I had my darling students make these adorable handprint crafts. (Get it . . . March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb?)
Parents love handprint crafts. They are great keepsakes. I love a thrifty craft.
For the lion, I made a mixture of yellow and brown (just a little) paint to make that sort of mustard color. I painted the children’s palms with the paint and made a handprint on paper. For the lion’s mane, I cut up small strips of brown …read more

Just as promised, I have some pictures of the Valentine crafts that I suggested for this week. At the top are samples of the heart collages we made. (Once again, I love the die cut machine. What a time saver!) Next, are the painted hearts we did with marbles. And finally there are the Valentine cards for the parents. The card on the left doesn’t have the handprint made into a heart. It is way too hard to get a toddler to hold their hand still to make a heart. For instructions on these crafts, click over to my post on Valentine’s Day …read more

Valentine’s Day is just two days away and I feel like I have failed you. I am normally good at giving ideas for holidays (or at least I think I am ) and I am behind on getting ideas to you for Valentine’s Day. Honestly, I have to blame this crazy cold for part of it. Thankfully, I am starting to feel better today. I haven’t had any medicine yet.
Last week at school the students made Valentine cards. I let them add hearts to the cards with my foam stampers and some hearts cut from construction paper. I used …read more

As a teacher, I am on the look out for cute, easy, and quick arts & crafts for my students. Here is one that I found this past weekend. I hope to find time to make this with my students this week. This is a simple ornament idea that you could do with your child. Perhaps they could make one as a gift for grandma and grandpa. Thanks to Dumb Little Man for the tip.
