Michaels is having another free family ”The Knack” event from 10 am-1pm this Saturday, April 18. Kids will create their own bunny or spring chick for some sunny spring fun. One page I read said that this was for all ages and another said that it was for ages 5-12. Honestly, this looks like a very easy craft, so it may be for the younger ones too.
You can stop by The Knack website for free printables. There are over 200 to choose from. There are also loads of project ideas. Click on the spring project idea list and you’ll have plenty …read more

If you’re like me, you’re looking for cute and easy projects for the kids. For this one, I bought some of the shatterproof bulb ornaments. (I painted mouths on a few of them, but I’m not sure if I like it.) Also, on the back I painted my kid’s names and year. Cute, easy, and inexpensive. Thanks to my friend Karen for sending me this idea.

My town shuts down Main Street every September for a craft and fall festival. I love going but rarely ever make it. This year I packed up the kids, left the DH at home, and went with my girlfriend and babysitter extraordinare, MM. We were only out there an hour but found all kinds of Christmas gifts. I left all but the shelves… I have been looking for wooden shelves to put up on the walls for my kids rooms but haven’t had any luck. That or I won’t pay $20 for one only to have to paint it myself. …read more
Thrifty Photo Transfer Pillows

As I’m working on the computer now, I’m watching HGTV’s “Decorating Cents”. Today they have a pretty cool thrifty craft project on their show.
On Decorating Cents, they were remodeling a multi-purpose family room. They needed an area for guests to sleep, so they turned a double bed sideways, put a bedspread on it, and covered it with pillows to make it look like a daybed. On the bed, they put photo pillows.
For complete instructions on making the pillows, visit HGTV’s website. These look pretty easy to do! Sounds like a thrifty gift idea and a neat way to …read more
