Dollar Store Offer Dangers & Deals

Last week I posted about dollar stores not being such an amazing deal. Which I’m standing by, but it would appear than topics come at me in droves because I just saw a Consumer Reports video about the dangers (and sometimes deals) of dollar stores. If you frequent dollar stores this two minute video is worth a quick watch.

News Flash: Dollar Store Trips Not the Best

The other day my eight-year-old Cedar says, “So, I’ve been thinking that all dollar stores sell is junk that breaks right away.” Most little kids I know love the allure of the dollar store – so many items, so little time. Cedar did used to love them, I think he’s been burned by one too many cheap dollar store toys though. Plus I don’t totally disagree with Cedar actually. There is a ton of crap at dollar store type places. You have to be smart and picky when shopping at the dollar store.

Make the most of your dollar store trip

Back in the day; Deb did a a cool post about 38 Things You Can Find at a Dollar Store. I agree with some of her advice, and think some things, like frames for example can be a good deal at a dollar store. However, since I’m personally not being a big fan of shopping, I find the dollar store a little obnoxious.
