I’ve been wanting to see Fireproof for quite some time now. I frugally resisted going to the theaters to see it and decided to wait until it was released to buy or rent the movie. From the reviews I’ve read, I figured it was a movie worth buying, just like Facing the Giants. I haven’t had a chance to look in the stores for the flick; after all I live 30 minutes from Wal-Mart!
Sunday I decided to stop by the local Movie Gallery to rent it for my husband and me. There was only one video left on the shelves. I took …read more

Are 2 for 1 Coupons Worth It?
So today I wanted to buy a Disney DVD for Turkey Butt. I was pleased to see a $6 off coupon on the front. So I go the DVD and took it to the cash register only to find that the coupon was a way to get more money from my wallet. The coupon was only good if I bought 2 DVD’s. There weren’t 2 DVD’s I was interested in. So I bought the DVD with no coupon. Let me tell you that just chapped my hide! If you are going to give me a coupon, just give it to …read more

There is a great little blog contest over at aPARENTly speaking. I have to give you my favorite nursery rhyme. My grandma used to say all the time a nursery rhyme that I tell my kids every day.
It goes like this: “I love you little. I love you big. I love you like a little ole’ pig! ”
I hope we win the wiggles DVD! My Turkey Butt loves them.
Save On New Release DVDs

Is there a particular movie that you would like to own on DVD? If so, then I suggest buying it the week it is released to the stores. The first week a movie is released, you can usually save five or more dollars then you would if you bought it in the following weeks. Tonight I was at Target and bought the new “Cars” movie for $15.99. I saved $4 since I bought it the week of its release. The cashier also gave my kids a Cars light up pin. Those had to be worth a couple dollars each. It was …read more
Disney on Demand is a frugal idea

My daughter is really starting to get into the Disney channel. I like the shows but the Dish bill is killing our finances. Granted, it is still cheaper than cable or buying a few DVD’s every month. But I ran across a great little article from the Frugal Duchess, who is cheaper than I am, and will try her idea.
Turns out, you can download most of the shows that run on Disney for free! How cool is that. Now if only Noggin would let us buy a DVD of all their videos, my daughter would be in Heaven.
