Just a few months ago, I was visiting my aunt and she wanted me to try the lotion bar that she had purchased from Honey Thyme Herb Farm.  She knows that I have really bad eczema and she was certain that the lotion bar would help.  After just a few uses, I could tell a big difference.

I remember the year I was in 5th grade and I got these blistery, red patches in the creases of my elbows and knees.  I soon found out that it was eczema.  I have lived with eczema since that time.  It has been difficult dealing with the itching, burning, and painful breakouts.  Here are some things that I have learned along the way that can help you and your family deal with this disease.

Thrifty Homemade Facial Recipe

Many people suffer from dry skin during the winter months.  Here is a recipe for a homemade facial for dry skin.  Most of you will remember that I suffer from really bad eczema, so this may be a good natural remedy for me. 
This recipe was taken from Now & Zen Bathworks.  They also have facial recipes for sensitive or oily skin.  Be sure and check out their site for these recipes, as well as their products.
Dry Skin Recipe
1 cup oatmeal, not instant
1/4 cup of banana or avocado, smashed

Baking soda is an inexpensive cleaning tool.  It is safe to use and gentle on your skin.  This is important for me, since I have terrible eczema.  Looks like I need to go purchase a large box of this amazing product.  I am excited that there is a cleaner out there that won’t irritate my skin and cause pain.  I hope you will try these tips for this frugal product.
