I bet there are some of you out there that love shopping at CVS and why not, after all don’t you love buying stuff for nothing? Here are a few weekly deals that give you back Extra Care Bucks (ECBs).

Coupon: $2 off Aussie shampoo from P&G 3/15, Pantene 2/$3 off from P&G 4/5

Other CVS Deals:
- $14.99 Bayer Breeze2 (Free after mail-in rebate)
- $1 Band-aids
Coupon: $1 off

Here are what a few people are saying, the Crest/Oral B deal does work if you still have one of those BOGO Coupons with Zooth Toothbrushes. These are the kids toothbrushes and if you are anything like me you have a ton of adult toothbrushes stockpiled but none of the kids.

I also grabbed Veet for $2.40 since they were $4.40 on clearance and I had a coupon from the RIB Magazine, the Essence of Beauty sponges were buy one get one half off (not sure if they still are) and the Blade deodorant sprays were $1.99 but with the $1 off from RIB made it cheaper. As you can see I love to shop for bargains and can’t wait to go back next week. If you haven’t yet the Accu-Check Monitor cost $9.99 and gives you back $9.99 ECBs.

Have a great time shopping. Don’t forget to come back here and list what you got.

Each month, CVS offers Extra Care Bucks back on select items in their stores. Some items are free after you get their bucks. The bucks work as cash coupons toward other CVS purchases and they print with your receipt at the end of each transaction.

I find the CVS system a bit complicated. I still have to have my things rung up in separate transactions so that I can keep it all figured out in my head. Some people say that you can do it all in one transaction though. I haven’t quite figured that out.

These Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) can be a big savings to your family. If you’re interested in seeing how I saved $74 today, click below.

Here are some of the bargains I found. I put the ECB items in bold print.

1st transaction:
3 Adidas deodorants, reg 4.99 each
1 Twizzlers 8 pk, on close out 50% off for .65
I used a $3 CVS coupon that was emailed to me. My out of pocket expense (OOP) was $12.62 and I received $14.97 back in ECBs for the 3 deodorants.

2nd transaction:
1 Hallmark tote bag/purse, $1.00 on clearance
2 Tums Quikpaks, on sale for $4.69 each
1 bottle of Gummy vitamins, on close out 50% off for $5
I used my $14.97 in ECBs and my OOP was .41. I received $9.38 ECBs.

3rd transaction:
2 CVS Loratadin 5 ct (Claritin equivalent), on sale for $3.79
2 Hello Kitty toothbruses, on close out for $2.24 each
I used a buy one get one free coupon for the toothbrushes, which took off $2.24. I also had $9.38 in ECBs and paid .44 OOP. I received $7.58 in ECBs.

4th transaction:
4 packs Rolaids (3 rolls in each package), $2.49-2.99 each
I used $7.58 in ECBs and had $2.88 OOP. I received $8 in ECBs because they Rolaids had $2 in ECBs for each pack, limit of 5 packs per CVS card.

5th transaction:
L’Oreal make-up, marked down 75% off for $3.49
St Ives 18 oz lotion, on sale for $2.99
2 Oral-B Indicator toothbrushes, on sale for $1.99
1 pack of Rolaids, $2.89
The Oral-B toothbrushes gave back $1 ECBs for each toothbrush. I also had a $1 coupon for the toothbrushes and a 50 cent coupon for the lotion. I used $8 ECBs, spent $3.85, and I think I got back $4 in ECBs. To be honest, I didn’t even look. lol

My grand total in savings was $74.59, which is about 80%!!! This included using a few coupons and the ECBs that CVS gave me today. I spent $20.20 and I also have a few more extra care bucks to spend.

CVS also has Aquafresh toothpaste and Colgate toothbrushes for free with ECBs. They were out of these today, but said they would get another shipment this week. I guess I’ll go back with my left over ECBs and get these items.

Some CVS tips:

Have the casher scan your card before ringing up your purchases. If they don’t scan your card, then you can’t get the deals.

As stated before, you must have a CVS card to get these special deals. If you don’t have one, then you can get a card online or in the store. I would recommend getting the card from the store so that you can use it immediately.

If you haven’t already, I would recommend signing up at CVS.com for their email updates. I have received several valuable coupons this way, including the $3 coupon that I used today.

You can use manufacturer’s coupons with the ECB deals and still get back the amount that was promised in their ad. For example, you can purchase the Adidas deodorant for $4.99. If you have a $1 coupon for the deodorant, then you will pay $3.99 for the item, but still receive $4.99 in ECBs. This amounts to even more savings!

I hope all of this makes sense. It was pretty confusing to me the first few times I did this too. Let me know if you have any questions.

Do you shop the CVS extra care buck specials?

For today only you can get Hershey’s Pot of Gold, plastic Easter eggs, and jelly beans for free. Limit 2 each. When I say free, I mean that you buy them and then CVS gives you back the same amount you spent in CVS bucks to spend on something else.

Here are some other things that are free right now:

Maybelline lipgloss (limit 1) - $8.99

Oral B Pro Health toothbrushes (limit 2) – $4.99

Listerine Smart Rinse for Kids (limit 2) - $2.99

Colgate Total Advance 4 oz (limit 5) - $2.99

If you get the Listerine, make sure you look for the rebate on the display. That means you can get it for free and get another $2.99 back from the manufacturer. You can also combine manufacturer’s coupons with these and save even more money.

I ended up with 2 Hershey’s Pot of Gold chocolates, 2 packages of Easter eggs, 2 bags of jelly beans, 2 Oral B toothbrushes, 1 Listerine, 1 lipgloss, and 3 Colgate toothpastes. I spent $13.94 before tax and I returned home with another $13.94 in Extra Care Bucks for later. CVS also emailed me a coupon for $4 off my next $20 purchase. In the next week or so, I’m going to purchase $20 in stuff, use my $4 coupon, and my $13.94 in CVS bucks, and only pay approximately $4 for the stuff. I also have a coupon for $2 off a CVS brand purchase, so I could combine that one too. Pretty cool, huh?

I love saving money! Please tell us if you’ve found any deals lately!

It is late and I just realized it is Frugal Friday. lol It’s been a hectic week! Good thing I just got some great deals at CVS that I can tell you about. Here’s what I got for $8.02, including tax :

So, I’m sure you’re wondering how I got over $50 worth of stuff for $8. Here’s how it works:

Each week, check the CVS flyer to see if there are any items that you can get for free. If there are items, then first you must invest a few dollars to get that item. Instantly your CVS Extra Care Bucks (ECB) will print off for the price of the item and then you can use them to get more stuff.

These are my transactions:
1. Aleve
2. 1 Softsoap – I used my $4.00 ECB and spent 52 cents (including tax).
3. 1 toothbrush – I used the $4.49 ECB from the Softsoap and spent .53.
4. 1 toothbrush – I used the $4.99 ECB from the toothbrush and spent 0.
5. 1 TreSemme produce, 1 Excedrin – I used the $4.99 ECB from the toothbrush and I had a $2 ECB that printed when I bought the Aleve (I guess from some purchases I made a few weeks ago) and spent .30.
6. 2 Softsoap – 1.83
7. 2 Softsoap – 0
8. 1 pad, 1 Softsoap, cotton balls, 1 Peeps (I needed to buy the Peeps because I had a negative balance) – $1.06
9. Real Simple Magazine – .01 I used my remaining ECB of $4.49 to get something that I wanted.

Have you had much luck using the CVS Extra Care Bucks?
