IKEA is one of the better places to find unique furniture for less money than expensive department or specialty furniture shops, and now if you buy a bookcase there, you’ll also be supporting the Save the Children’s Early Steps to School Success program.
Here’s the lowdown: Starting today, Monday, July 13th through Thursday, August 31st, 2009 for every EXPEDIT bookcase sold at all IKEA stores nationwide, a $5 donation will be made to Save the Children’s Early Steps to School Success program. Ingvar Kamprad of Ikea still likes a bargain

One of my favorite things to share with you is how famous people save money too. I ran across an article from Reuters this morning about IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad. It just goes to show you that he is a regular guy just like the rest of us, just trying to save a few pennies here and there. According to the article, he is worth an estimated $28 billion by Forbes magazine. That makes him the 4th wealthiest man alive behind Bill Gates of Microsoft, US investor Warren Buffett, and Mexican industrialist Carlos Slim. …read more
