Investing in Our Children Produces Great Rewards

When I think of Thrifty Mommy’s slogan of “a cool mom finding more for less”, I think of the investment each of us can make in our children. It doesn’t cost us a penny to spend time with them, but it does cost us (in many ways) to not spend time with them.

- It costs us money to let them watch television with advertisements.

People have been wondering if the extra cost of a hybrid vehicle is worth the savings on gas. Now Edmunds has done a cost analysis of some of the top hybrid models. We can know how much longer it will take to get a return on investment should you buy the hybrid versions of the cars in their study.

My Quest for a TMX Elmo

About a month ago I wrote a post on the TMX Elmo. I don’t keep up with the latest toys, but I had heard that the TMX Elmo was this year’s hot item. I checked with Wal-Mart and asked when the toy was being released. The lady gave me the date of October 1st. I remember that it was going to be released on a Sunday morning. I actually thought about going to Wal-Mart at like 5 a.m. and getting one just to resell. Obviously, I had no clue how popular they really were.
