The Elusive “Bigger, Better, More”

It seems to me that one of the biggest problems we face today is our societal adoption of the “Bigger, Better, More” theory. Many people who practice this way of living end up unable to satiate their desires and become generally unhappy with life. A shift in focus can sometimes be the greatest avenue to finding happiness. I had to learn this the hard way, when we moved from a wonderful neighborhood, for the sake of saving money. Yes, we downsized and it was a smart financial move. Frugal Friday 19: Contentment

This week I was surprised when I heard someone saying that she needed to get a part-time job.
Why does she need another job? Her husband has a good job and has been employed at the same company for years. She has been at the same well paying job for probably 15 years or more. They have a nice house, but they have owned it for a while so their payments shouldn’t be much, probably even less than mine.
