Happy Memorial Day! I hope that you all are enjoying this day with friends and family.
I am so thankful for the sacrifice that our military has made over the years for our freedom and safety. Freedom is not free. Having grown up in a military town made me very aware of the duties and sacrifices of our service men and women, as well as those of the wives and families they left behind. I hope that you’ll take the opportunity to tell them “thank you” today.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never owned a set of 600 thread count sheets. I’m almost afraid to try them because sheets will never be the same. I’m afraid I’ll get spoiled.
At Belk, I also found some nice shirts …read more

Sunday and Monday Belk is having a Memorial Day sale. My mom also told me that today’s newspaper has a $10 coupon for a $25 purchase. For the special sale, stores are open today 11 am – 7 pm and stores open early Monday at 9 am.
I’m sure there are many other Memorial Day sales going on. Do you have any to share with the other thrifty moms?

I don’t know about you, but someone would have to give me a free trip to get me to go away for Memorial Day or the 4th of July. I cannot even comprehend wanting to vacation during the busiest times of the year. The prices of gas and hotels are inflated. And if you go to the beach, you know how crowded it will be.
If I were to plan a trip to the beach, I’d want to go in the spring or fall. I grew up on the coast of NC and I still don’t care for the humidity. Ok, some of you may …read more
