Thrifty Hobbies

The following is a guest post. 
I started running again the the other day. My workout plan involves running on 5 nights a week between when the kids go to bed and my bedtime. Three of those nights are weekdays. I realized that this could save me some pretty decent money.
Instead of spending money on any number of food or entertainment related things, I now have three nights where I just will not have time to do much besides normal family time, nightly chores, and my workout.
Now running is as much a hobby for me as a health thing.

Is moving worth the gas prices?

I just heard on my local news that thousands of people are moving closer in to the cites to save on gas.  The statistic is that people are saving as much as $400 per month by moving into the city and cutting their commuting time.  But how much are they spending on moving costs and closing costs and stress of moving and up rooting the kids ????

Welcome Motherhood Moment

Frugal ways to spend less

Dawn over at Frugal for Life found a great article from Woman’s Day Magazine on 17 ways to spend less money. Dawn did a great job of lending her 2 cents to how to spend less money. I thought I would give you my 2 cents so that you would now have 4 cents to spend.

Buy only what you can carry. TM – I use the little hand basket for a quick trip to the grocery store. Otherwise, I might trip and fall. Now that was a sight to behold.
