Happy New Year everyone! I hope that everyone has a blessed and happy year.
This is the time of year when folks traditionally make resolutions. I do try to examine my life and see what areas need improvement. Self evaluation and reflection are a good thing.
I’ve steered away from making resolutions though. I guess it’s because they’ve become so cliché and many resolutions aren’t taken very seriously. I prefer to call it a goal or commitment.
Do you make resolutions, goals, or commitments?

Last week I posted about resolutions and real solutions. It seems that many times we make resolutions, but haven’t thought about what we’re going to do to achieve our goals. This year I am trying to make some realistic resolutions, instead of just a wish list of things I would like to happen. Here are some things I would like to achieve:
1. I would like to be debt free this year (other than our home) and have a good amount of money set aside in savings. Being debt free is a realistic goal. During the past year, we have really …read more

Happy New Year from us at Thrifty Mommy. We pray that you will have a blessed and prosperous year.
There’s something about a new year that causes us to make resolutions. I think it causes us to take a look at our lives and see things that should be different. A new year seems to be a fresh start.
Resolutions about weight loss, debt reduction, and spending habits seem to be the most popular. The problem with our resolutions is that they are resolutions and not solutions that will help us reach our goals.

Only 3 Days Left

There are only 3 days left until the new year. This means that there are 3 days left to make donations to a non-profit organization for the 2006 year. Use this as an excuse to clean out your closets and your kid’s toys. Come on, you know they have too many toys, especially since Christmas just passed.
Don’t forget about monetary donations as well. Just make sure your check it postmarked on time. I’m sure your church, local Salvation Army, or other charitable organization would appreciate your donation.
Make sure you ask for a receipt for your donations.
