It’s hard to believe it, but it was three years ago that I started blogging at Thrifty Mommy. I had never blogged before, but I love to save money.
I actually landed this job because I would send out emails ranting about the debt that Americans were in and how we were spending more money than we were making.
The average American spends more money than they make. When will this stop? It is going to catch up with us at some time or another.

I just wanted to say that due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be blogging for Thrifty Mommy in the future. I have loved developing this blog and am so fortunate for all of your support over the years. You guys have been unconditionally supportive of me and I want to say thank you to all of you.
You totally supported my and b5’s decision to bring Karen onboard a couple of years ago, and I am whole heartedly appreciative of all she has done. She will do all of you proud as Thrifty Mommy goes on.

A Thrifty Waffle House Wedding

My friend sent me an email today about a couple getting married in a Waffle House. I checked it out and sure enough, it’s true. Now you have a reason to smile today. Let me know what you think.
Standing nearby, the father of the newly minted Mrs. Pamela Mathis, William Christopher, wondered if anyone had videotaped the ceremony. He wants to send it in to CMT.
“I think it’s pretty redneck myself,” he said, laughing. “But I’m a redneck anyway, so.”

Man I must be cheap!

After 2 kids, I have noticed a pattern when dressing my infants. Until they start walking outside, I usually don’t put them in shoes. Their feet are so hot and sweaty all year round that I just let them go bare footed or in socks. Not to mention, this is the cheapest way to dress them since they don’t need to protect their feet anyway. After all, they aren’t using the bottoms of their feet anyway. Knee pads might be more reasonable at the crawling stage and I just don’t care that much about being fashionable.

Baby “Grace” is now little Riley Ann Sawyers
Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of Riley Ann Sawyers. She has been identified as the Baby “Grace” found in Galveston on October 29th. I have been listening to the news conference and the police have identified her mom and the boyfriend as suspects. Her mom is only 19. I can’t imagine any harm coming to Turkey Butt. I just keep crying thinking about it. Little Riley Ann is adorable and I can’t imagine having to say goodbye to my daughter. Evidently her mom met the man involved on the internet and moved to Texas from Ohio. …read more
