You have to love Old Navy. They have gifts from just $10 that are actually worth giving. I love this little hat for girls. I don’t think it would work for little boys though. But check out their deals and sales. You can’t find anything else that wears as well for the price!

Great deals on Christmas shipping

The holidays have officially begun. I love this time of year. The hustle and bustle of the shopping and making sure that all the decorations are up makes me get up and go! I know … I’m weird. But you love me anyway, don’t you?!?! One of my favorite traditions is going shopping on Black Friday with my MIL. We have a blast and then the men meet us with the kids for dinner. It’s great! This year we were talking about online shopping and she said that she doesn’t do it at all. I thought, “How sad”. At least it guarantees me a shopping buddy each year.

But online shopping can save a lot of time and you can still get great deals. The only draw back for me is the shipping. Some stores really get you there. So where are the great shipping deals this year? Here are some great ways to shop for nothing or next to it right from home.

Target has free shipping on over 15000 gifts for the holidays.

Toys-R-Us has free standard shipping and some buy 2 get the 3^rd free items that are really cool.

Wal-Mart, not to be outdone but who won’t loose money, offers 97cent shipping on some great video games, toys, and ideas for the home.

My all-time fave, Old Navy, has standard delivery for only $5. It’s not free but it is cheaper than going to the mall.

Amazon has free super saving shipping and 30% off above that.

Babycenter Store has free shipping on orders over $49 along with a great toy sale.

So shop from home and enjoy some extra time with family. I will and will love it forever.

Men wearing women’s jeans?

I have noticed lately that guys want to wear women’s jeans. I am not too sure about this fashion statement, but i do know that it CAN’T be saving them any money. Just look at Old Navy for instance. Most of their jeans for men and women cost about the same … Anywhere from $20-$35. So why the facination with our clothes?

Is it because for years we have worn your baggy t-shirts and sweatshirts? Hint… We wear them sometimes to remind ourselves of your smell. Not so we can look like you. Other times, it is just becasue they aren’t so tight on us. It has nothing to do with saving any money! We just look better, sometimes, in your clothes than our own.

But recently, I came across a picture (I promise it is a guy in the picture) that decided he wanted to wear ladies jeans. Granted, the style lately is tighter jeans on men but this is a little extreme. Gentlemen, take it from us ladies. Stick to your own jeans. You look much better in them and you will spend less money by not having to buy the guy jeans after the girl jeans. Just a thought.

I love Mommysavers. The site has great ideas on all kids of topics. One of my favorite articles lately is The Frugal Mommy’s Favorite Things. Does this look familiar? It should. The article is a spin-off of Oprah’s popular “Favorite things” show. My favorite on the list is the Old Navy Jeans. I totally agree but sometimes still have a tough time paying $25 dollars for jeans. I am working on it but am still holding out to find great Old Navy jeans at the Goodwill. You know me.

Where do you like to shop? I love to shop at the craziest places. My favorite stores are Old Navy during the middle of the week, Goodwill, and Once Upon A Child. I am sure that Stacy and Clinton, of TLC’s What Not to Wear, would have a field day or a heart attack in my closet. But sometimes, especially with KM’s things, I buy when I don’t really need things. Here are some great ideas on when, where, and what to shop for with a thrifty wallet.

I have raved about my local consignment shop. I admit I am spoiled. But it has been brought to my attention that not everyone has this blessing. Well, Kelly to the rescue! I have found a great website that has comparable prices to my consignment shop online! Of course, the name had to be Adorable Again. Now you too can enjoy great prices. The only downside is that the site is a tad slow. Be patient and enjoy some good shopping. They have all kids of brands like Children’s Place, Gymboree, Old Navy, etc…

I recently found the time to sit down and read my March issue of Parenting magazine. They had the coolest tips for sales and when to buy at particular stores. Author Amy Roberts quotes Kimberly Danger, author of 1000 Best Baby Bargains, giving some tips on “How to beat the crowds to the best Bargains”

Shop Gap and Old Navy midweek, when items usually go on sale. Their final markdowns end in “.97,” so if the price tag reads “.99,” you know the item will go lower.

Some Targets mark down kids’ clothes on Mondays and start with 30% off. (Wait 2 weeks and those clothes will be half price.)

For the best prices at The Children’s Place, visit its online outlet (go to childrensplace.com and click on Shop Outlet), where clearance prices can go as low as $3.99.

Sign up for Gymboree mailing list online to have a chance to earn and redeem Gymbucks for deeper discounts.
