WOW! How much should milk cost
I just got back from the Grocery store and spent $27 on 5 gallons of milk. My family will go through that much milk in a week so I don’t worry about it going bad but i was amazed with how much milk costs. I got 2 gallons of 2% store brand milk and 3 gallons of whole store brand organic milk. FYI, my organic is only $2.99 for half gallon cartons versus the $4 a half gallon of the name brand.
How much have you paid for milk in the last week?

Just a few months ago, I was visiting my aunt and she wanted me to try the lotion bar that she had purchased from Honey Thyme Herb Farm. She knows that I have really bad eczema and she was certain that the lotion bar would help. After just a few uses, I could tell a big difference.
A few months later, when I visited my aunt again, I used the lotion bar a few more times. Again, I received quick results. I decided that I needed to contact Theresa at Honey Thyme Herb Farm to get some of these products to try for myself.

Remember that cold I had a few weeks ago? Well, it developed into a sinus infection. I really didn’t want to go to the doctor. That would mean money out of pocket for the visit and the medicine. I decided to look online first for some remedies. I was surprised at what I found.
I visited the Earthclinic website and found that their #1 recommendation for sinus infections is organic apple cider vinegar. They actually recommend taking it at the start of a cold to prevent the infection, but I decided to give it a shot. If it didn’t work, then …read more
Organic Foods Are Becoming Thrifty

Last year, 17,000 new products were introduced into the market and about 4,000 of them claim to be “organic” or “all natural.” Just because a product says it’s organic doesn’t mean it is. And, just because it’s organic doesn’t mean it’s good for you.
Lay’s has some new organic potato chips. They have sea salt and oil, are higher in price, but they have the same amount of fat and calories. According to Lake Mirabel Organics, “Neither Campbell’s Organic Tomato Juice nor any of Frito-Lay’s organic chips claim to be healthier than the companies’ non-organic equivalents. They market themselves as catering to …read more

Tiffany at Nature Moms has a tried and true way to save a lot of time and money by preparing your meals ahead of time. I have always heard of the people that cook one day for a month but it sounded overwhelming to me. Tiffany makes it sound so easy and I will definitely try it soon. She has a new blog dealing with all parenting things natural that you might want to check out as well. I wonder how many meals I can manage to cook without having to clean my kitchen afterwards?
Wal-Mart to go high end and organic.

It doesn’t get any more thrifty than taking competitors coupons to the store you always shop at anyway. That way, you don’t waste gas money. Everybody knows that store is Wal-mart. I saw a report on TV several weeks ago about how Wal-Mart is going hi-society. It showed an experimental store in Plano, Texas that has organic foods, high end wines and electronics, and name brand clothing. I saw it at a glance and couldn’t find anything else. I have a personal interest in Wal-Mart as my dad worked there for years. He was pretty high up when he …read more
Can Frugal and Organic go hand in hand?

My sister-in-law always impresses me. She and my brother can, it seems, whip up incredible tasting and very healthy meals with what sounds like little effort. They’re always coming home with tales of wonderful meals concocted from organic produce and lean meats. Guess that’s one of the reasons why they are so healthy. But even she will admit that organic foods cost slightly more. I also have noticed this at the grocery store which is why I don’t buy organic foods. However, I came across an enlightening article about a couple who own a bed-n-breakfast. Turns out, they moved from …read more
