I’m sitting here at my parent’s house.  They live about 1 1/2 hours from us.  We planned to come for the day and return home tonight so that tomorrow we could start packing for our move (we’re moving next week!). 

I had no intentions of shopping tomorrow.  After all, we live out in the boonies and I’m lucky to find a decent restaurant.  I’d have to drive almost an hour to next largest city to get take advantage of Black Friday sales.  I’d almost considered signing up at Tree Hugging Family for Buy Nothing Day.  And then I did it . . . I saw the sales papers.  Oh dear. 

Hubby really likes House and Target has the season sets for around $13-14 per set.  I can get seasons 1-3 for less than $40, which is about the price of one season.  One sales paper led to another and now we’ve decided that we’re staying the night and heading out early in the morning to catch some deals. 

Hubby and I will get out by ourselves to shop while the kids sleep comfortably in their bedroom at my parent’s house.  Part of me thinks we’re a little crazy and then another part says it will be fun to get out alone and do something together.

I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!  Did any of you go out shopping on Black Friday?  If so, tell us what you got and how much you saved.  This is the time of year when my hubby and I sometimes buy a new electronic device that we want or need.

I confess that I did not go shopping this year.  We went to Thanksgiving lunch at my brother’s house and then went to my parent’s house to stay the night.  The next day DH and I left by ourselves (with no kids!!!!) for a short trip.  It was great!  I’ll post some pictures later this week.

We at Thrifty Mommy want to wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving.  We are spending the weekend at my in-laws.  YEAH!  They are great and the kids will have a ball with their cousins.  I miss my family but plans are already made to see my side in a few months time.  I thought I would tell you a few things I am thankful for today.  What are you thankful for?
