Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! I hope that you all are enjoying this day with friends and family.

I am so thankful for the sacrifice that our military has made over the years for our freedom and safety.  Freedom is not free.  Having grown up in a military town made me very aware of the duties and sacrifices of our service men and women, as well as those of the wives and families they left behind.  I hope that you’ll take the opportunity to tell them “thank you” today.

Iced Coffee Day Event at Dunkin’ Donuts

Dunkin’ Donuts wants Americans to kick off spring with a refreshing cup of Iced Coffee that will help make a difference for our injured veterans in need.  On Tuesday, April 21, Dunkin’ stores throughout the country will sell small iced coffee for the reduced price of only 50 cents. Five cents from each cup sold will go to Homes for Our Troops, a national, non-profit organization that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans.

“Dunkin’ Donuts admires and respects the commitment of veterans who have given selflessly to their country and we are proud to play an active role in helping them rebuild their …read more

Say thank you to our troops and let Xerox pay

Xerox has a great campaign going on right now that allows you to send a thank you card to a soldier at no cost to you.  Please stop by and send one from yourself and one from your kids too, if you want.  I filled one out for each member of our family.  They do so much and sacrifice more than we will ever know.  This is true regardless of whether we agree with the mission or not.

Family Dollar donating to our Troops

I got a cool email from my friend from Febreeze and I thought I would share it with you.  What a great way to donate to our troops.
I wanted to share with you a new donation Febreze is making to support our troops. The company has partnered with Family Dollar stores nationwide to send bottles of Febreze To Go to troops stationed abroad. The donation — a response to military requests — will freshen and eliminate odors on military gear and uniforms and bring the troops a refreshing piece of home.

Send Free Cards to Our Troops

Send Free Cards to Our Troops

Xerox is helping us to get cards to our troops.  At “Let’s Give Thanks” all you have to do is click on a card that you would want to send, put your name and location, and select a message that you want to go to someone overseas.
All of the artwork on the cards were made by children.  This is a pretty cool site. I’ve sent several cards already.  It really only takes a few seconds.
Let’s Give Thanks to our service men and women.
