Thrifty Mommy

Thrifty way to let leftovers keep your entire family happy.

I love a great idea for leftovers.  Mainly because I don’t like to eat leftovers and anything that will make leftovers more appetizing works for me.  About.com has a list of great ideas for leftovers and more ways to stay frugal in the kitchen.  I like, and have used, the tip on taking salt out of a soup or stew by putting a potato in for a while and then taking it out.  Pat also has a good tip for keeping everyone in the house happy with leftovers.

Put leftover food in serving sized containers and freeze. Individual yogurt cups are great for this. Seal the lids with tape and mark the contents. When you’re busy or tired, dinner is already cooked and everyone can mix and match to their heart’s desire!

Who would have thought.

Pat, you are so clever!
