Today’s Thrifty Deals

There is a little children’s consignment store not far from my work.  I stopped by there today and found some great deals.  They were having 50% off a lot of their winter stuff so that they could make room for the spring and summer stuff.  Here’s what I got:

pair girl’s slippers
pair girl’s blue dress shoes
pair girl’s OshKosh brown leather shoes
pair girl’s Sesame Street tennis shoes ($1.00!)
girl’s Gap jacket
boy’s Carter’s jacket
girl’s Carter’s jacket
girl’s Old Navy jacket
girl’s zip up sweater
boy’s Old Navy button up shirt
boy’s B.T. Kids 3 piece set – denim shirt, vest, and tie ($3.00)

I got all this for $21!!!  Most of it is for next winter, but I try to buy ahead.  It’s nice for the next season to roll around and be able to just pull out the clothes and wash them without having to shop around.  Be sure to check out your local consignment store for great deals too.

    Great score, Karen!

I wish I could convince all expecting parents to hit the kiddie consignment store before they spend a mint!

Thanks Angie. Pretty much everything that my kids had was given to us, bought at yard sales, consignment shops, or on clearance. Buying the stuff new is such a waste. I think that people get caught up in the moment when they’re expecting. I see people at Target and Wal-Mart buying all this new stuff and I just want to scream, “Stop! You don’t need it. Come to my yard sale. I have all this stuff for a very small fraction of the price.” Many people don’t see things the way we do. It kills me to spend that kind of money. Such a waste.
