Teens and their money worries

Seventeen Magazine and Bank of America just released findings from a new survey that revealed that teens are pretty darn anxious about the current economy.
According to the survey, most teens are indeed stressed out about their finances and money but girls are more so anxious than boys. More than eight in ten girls (85%) say they’re worried about the economy, vs. 75% of teen boys. And nearly nine of ten girls (88%) say they’re fretting about money, vs. 82% of teen boys.

Get online tutoring help: Paying for a tutoring program for your child can be costly, but online programs abound and many are free. The only trouble is how to choose a good one. It’s great to be thrifty and save money on school supplies, but one item you should splurge on is your child’s backpack. Why?
According to Consumer Reports, “In 2004 about 7,600 hospital-treated injuries in the U.S. were associated with backpacks, and the most vulnerable age group was 9- to 16-year-olds.” But from a thrifty perspective that’s not the only reason to splurge.
