My DD loves to be read to. Most kids do. But when you go to a bookstore, you are guaranteed to pay at least $6 or more for one book. My girlfriend called me today and said that our local library is having a book sale and is selling children’s books for $.50. I am so excited to go and see what they have. My DH and I were just talking about needing to get her some new books since we have read all of her books to her hundreds of times already. I can go to Amazon and get used books like I have done before. I only spend maybe $4-5 dollars per book, which is really not that bad. I am looking forward to seeing what I can get tomorrow. I’ll let you know. In the mean time, here are some other places to look for used children’s books:
- Used children’s clothing places
- Goodwill
- Yard sales
- Flea markets

Ok, so I went to the sale and I only found one book that I thought was ok to buy. Then I realized I didn’t even have $.50 on me. How embarrassing! The lady must have felt sorry for me because she paid for it for me and just told me to come back and get some more. God blessed me today. I hope he blesses you today as well.
Trading with friends is also great and church bazaars often have a great selection.
But why buy used books when you can make going to the library a free weekly outing?
The library is a great place to make a weekly trip. You are totally right! I just never think about going there. My thinking is changing as she gets older. She loves to read right before going to bed so I need to keep new books handy.
