Wal-Mart recalls bibs due to high levels of lead

Baby bibs

I heard on the news last week that Wal-mart was recalling their Baby Connection bibs due to the amount of lead found in the canal backings. The recall is specific to the state of Illinois. This simply means that the state of Illinois says that the bibs contain more than the acceptable limit of lead in the bibs.

HELLO!!!!!!! If on estate says that there is too much lead in the bibs, then no matter where I live, I am not keeping any of them. You can’t buy lead based paint any more so why would I want to hang a lead bib around my infant’s neck?

The recall involves:

  • Baby Connection 2-Pack Easy Wipe Bibs (UPC No. 01468152705)
  • Baby Connection 7-Pack Feeder Bibs (UPC No. 01468151077)
  • Baby Connection 2-Pack Feeder Bibs (UPC No. 01468102732)

If you have any questions, my suggestion is to throw them out. I can’t see a single reason why you should take the chance with the single most precious thing in your life under the age of 5 (Can’t exclude the other kids and the DH).

    Hi,

I tried to return my “Baby Connection” bibs to Walmart without the packaging that they came in. In order to know if the bibs were part of the recall, Walmart has to have the packaging; therefore, they wouldn’t do an exchange or refund on my bibs. The customer service dept suggested that I look for the existing items instore, that if they had the items, it would ring up on their register as a recalled item (I thought that was silly that they would keep recalled items on their shelves). Well, I didn’t find any bibs with plastic backings on them in particular Walmart store I shopped at. Don’t waste your time at Walmart, if you don’t have the packaging. Just throw away the items even if you are not sure if they are part of the recall.

I was wondering what china’s regulations for things that were sold there were…they know what our’s are. I am nervous to buy anything made in china now…lol and that is pretty much everything.
