Walgreens Cereal and Snacks Deal

Using Walgreens’ sales ad and this week’s newspaper, you can get a good deal on cereal and snacks. Walgreens is having a sale where you get 4 Kellogg’s cereals for $10 and get a $5 Register Reward good towards your next purchase and a second sale where you get 4 or 5 Keebler or Kellogg’s snacks for $10 with a $5 Register Reward. Combine this sale with the coupons and the Kellogg’s rebate for $10 back when you buy ten items from the Sunday paper and you have a great deal. If I used the right combination, I could have actually been paid $1 to remove the items from the store, but I opted to buy 6 of the 4/$10 snacks instead of the cheaper snacks. I still paid very little after rebates and Register Rewards and now I have Sandies cookies and Special K cereal to last me a while.
There are a few drawbacks to this sale, though. You have to get all ten items on one receipt or you could probably find an even better deal. Also, you have to mail the upc symbols in, which means items that aren’t double bagged could go stale. I’m just sticking all of my cookies in the cookie jar and the cereal is fine.

I tried this deal today and actually bought 14 items. With the coupons I had and the register rewards and the mail in rebate, I figured I would get paid about $2. One of my register rewards did not print and the store manager told me it was because I used coupons. I’m thinking it was because one of the cereals I bought (at their direction) was a little larger than the one listed for the deal but it was the only size they sell, so they said it would work. Oh well I guess!
Kati,
It probably was the cereal size. A couple people have mentioned that Corn Pops didn’t work at all for them and the new box sizes were giving a few of them problems, too.
