What a blessing for airline tickets

Ok, so I went to the airport and tried to get cheap tickets. Total failure. My tickets were averaging $3k. So I asked United, USAir, and Delta if they have bereavement fairs. Only United did so my tickets were $1400 for all 4 of us. That is a great deal for next day tickets.

Northwest also offers bereavement fares. Not that it helps you this time, but it might help others. Saved me a grand (one ticket) last month.
Wow, you did save a lot of money!
I know. I couldn’t believe it myself, but I looked online, called and then asked for the bereavement fare. I was panicked that I would have to drive the 12 hours, because I couldn’t afford a $1500 ticket!
$1400 for the four of you? Wow. Great deal.
When my grandmother died, I checked into bereavement fares and the cheapest I could find was $972 each. Thankfully my husband and I didn’t have to pay for our almost 2 year old son.
We ended up buying them from a discount ticket company and paid just under $500 each.
Lindsey, what company did you use?
I was very fortunate to get the deals but stay tuned for the rest of the story!
