Thrifty Mommy

What a great lasagna soup!

Last night I tried a great soup from Family Fun Magazine.  It was a great lasagna soup.  It took about an hour from start to finish but it was souper easy! No pun intended.  Both Turkey Butt and Little Man loved it.  Turkey Butt’s job was putting the cheese mixture on the bottom of the bowl and then putting the mozzarella on top.  She loved it.  I had never chopped herbs before.  I had alwasy used dried herbs but I have a fantastic small processor and use it for everything.  It made quick work of both the onions and the basil.  Hope you enjoy it.

That sounds yummy…I wonder if it would be a good crockpot meal?!

I’m always for trying it in the crock pot. I would totally suggest cooking the sausage first though.

This sounds good. Too bad my hubby won’t eat it though. He doesn’t eat pasta. :p

You could leave the pasta out. It’s really good. I will admit that I have become an herbal snob and will probably start an herb garden this spring. It was a world of difference using the fresh basil and bay leaves.

    Kelly,

Starting an herb garden is a really great way to be a frugal mommy! It is also a great way to spend time with the kids. My son and I have special time together just the two of us when we garden. It is also a great way to motivate him to eat his veggies when he grows them himself!

Soup sounds great! I’ll have to add it to my never-ending list of recipes that I want to try.

Oh this sounds great! Can’t wait to try it.
