Where I Blog

This month’s b5 Media Lifestyles Channel theme day topic is “Where I Blog”. I’ll just tell you, I am reluctantly showing you these pictures. Take a look and you’ll see why.

I don’t have a laptop and I don’t have room for a desk in my house. We have a small nook in the kitchen where the kitchen and living room meet, so we have put the computer on the floor, the monitor on top of a small filing cabinet, and the keyboard on a tv tray. There isn’t room for a comfortable roll around style office chair, so I use a dining table chair. I keep asking myself, ‘Why am I showing this?’.

Hopefully, one day I’ll be able to afford a laptop computer. I probably won’t be purchasing one anytime soon, because that would involve getting into debt. In the meantime, this unattractive system is working ok . . . well, other than the back pain from the chair. lol Now you see where I work from every day. I’m going to hide now. ;)

Karen, I think it’s great. It look very similar to my first blogging location in the location I used to call my dining room. That was about 10 years ago.

I think it just goes to show that regardless of what you have or what kind of space you have – you can become an awesome blogger with a monitor and a keyboard :)

    Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for showing us your space. I agree w/ Gayla, you do a fabulous job with what you have. During the day, I use my laptop at my kitchen table and the chairs are not comfy. Yesterday, I grabbed a pillow off the couch and placed it in the chair and I was much more comfortable. If you want to “pretty-up” your area, you could cover your cabinet or your desk with a piece of pretty fabric. Or leave it as is, because it obviously works well for you! :)
Thanks for your blog. I enjoy checking my feed reader and seeing that you have a new post.

  3. You’re using your small space really well, which is what being a thrifty mamma is all about! Thumbs up for you!
I agree with Nancy, tho, a bit of pretty fabric thrown over the little wooden table would be homey! LOL! I can’t throw fabric over my computer desk because it’s covered with STUFF.

A good chair would cost less than a laptop – or maybe try one of those massage chair covers :)

I know when I got my last computer, I really regret not getting a laptop. I always felt more comfortable with a computer. Our dance studio has internet though & I am so regretting that laptop decision!

I almost fell over when I saw your blogging space. My very first nook was almost exactly like that!

I still have the little table, which is just like yours, the only differences were-

My little dresser was white and the doorway where I sat was between the living room and bedroom.

The only reason I have a desk now is it was on sale at Big Lots and I had a tax refund!
