I’ve found that a few squirts of water will keep her off the tree. Of course, I don’t spray her when the lights are on. lol

Mine like to climb up the middle of the tree so I cannot get to them easily. Smart little guys…
Ours did this as kittens too, but keep up with the squirt bottle – it works!
Now they just lay around on the tree skirt like lazy old things.
Thankfully she hasn’t been inside the tree again since I sprayed her a few times yesterday. Now that the tree has been up for a few days and the newness has worn off, I’m going to attempt to decorate it. I’m going to take pictures of the kids in front of the tree for Christmas cards. I have a feeling I better get those pictures done immediately!!!! With a 2-year-old and a kitten in the house, I can only imagine what this tree is going to look like. I’m also afraid to wrap any presents. The kitty gets such a delight out of ripping up paper.
LOL, it’s not quite as damaging as when my two dogs decided they wanted to have a wrestling match under the tree. Now it’s tied to the wall.
Seems to be a common problem with cats; my daughter was saying just yesterday that her cats like climbing the tree.

LOL! Our pics could be twins.
I, too, used the water bottle to train him not to climb it. It worked. He stopped climbing and starting making flying leaps at the ornaments on the bottom branches instead. Back to the water bottle.

Cara, My kitty is only about 5 months old and she’s not so gentle. I had to spray her two more times tonight. I’m scared of what will happen while we’re sleeping.
what a darling photo your cute kitty is the image of my abby except shes 7 years young she cant climb my xmas tree its only one foot high and its artificial and its sitting on my coffee table but i sit on my new sofa with a water spray bottle because she is always trying to claw it but i love her shes my baby happy xmas regards carol from a very hot sth australia
my kitties are living in the basement and outside since they have discovered that wrestling inside the branches is fun!
