Works for Me Wednesday

Works for Me Wednesday is a weekly post about a quick tip that works for you. My tip involves snacks. I don’t break down and splurge on chips or cookies for the guys just to see the bag sitting open and stale a few hours later. No siree! (Does anyone but me say that anymore?)
As soon as I buy a snack, I open it and bag it up into serving size portions. The snack stays fresh in the small individual bags and I’ve noticed that whatever I buy lasts much longer, since the guys tend to eat more than a serving from the big bags.
After the small bags are empty, I have been washing and reusing them, but I’m wondering about the reports of plastic breaking down over time. I may have to rethink the frugal reuse of bags.
Anyway, that’s my tip for Works for Me Wednesday.

I always put them into a large plastic zip bag but that is such a good idea to put them into individual serving bags, that way you can just grab and go if needed. Thanks for the useful, and thrifty, tip
How about putting them into reusable containers instead of plastic bags? That would save money in the long term.
Peggy,
That’s a good idea. I do have a bunch of small containers I bought to organize beads and ended up just sticking in the container drawer…
