Wedding dresses are, by tradition, made long. It’s more formal, elegant and romantic. But we have to acknowledge the fact that the length may not be flattering to all brides. On the other hand, the idea of cutting the hemline short wouldn’t be as special as wearing a long dress on your wedding day. It’s quite understandable that it’ll pose as a big dilemma for the bride.
How can one choose?

I have never purchased a birthday cake for my children. In past years, I was fortunate enough to use my mom’s cake decorating skills to get fabulous cakes. Last year was one of those times. My son wanted a Lightning McQueen cake for his birthday. I looked around in the stores and tried to figure out what I was going to do.

Don’t forget the batteries, or maybe I should say batteries not included. You hear both of those phrases quite a few times around the holiday season. It seems like every toy you pick up needs batteries, and the electronic gadgets older kids have on their Christmas lists eat batteries left and right.

Credit counseling is an actual tool that people can use to help them get out of money binds, but there are some facts you should know about them. No one can repair your credit for a fee: If someone says they can, or you read an ad that states, “Will fix all credit issues for a fee” or “Can raise credit scores right away for a fee” don’t buy it. By law, no one can screw with your credit rating or credit report or alter the information.

This week is turn off the TV week, so why not get some friends and family together for a fun game night. I’ve been writing about family game night over at Play Library, but you can invite friends and their families over to join in the fun and make it a party. The official start of my favorite season, fall, is just days away. Living in the desert southwest, we won’t be feeling the effects of the autumnal equinox for another month or so, but my mind is already working to find ways to bring autumn inside, even if it’s going to take its time making an appearance outside!

When you think of fall there are some colors that just naturally come to mind, browns, oranges, yellows, and reds are all fabulous fall colors. I decided to go on a hunt for popular color combinations for fall 2009, here are a few of my favorites. How about these fall color combinations to inspire your fall party or wedding?

We try to get together as a family and play a couple games at least one night a week. Usually it’s a board game like Monopoly, Clue, Sorry, or Chess, and the last couple weeks it’s been Ruin.  Once in a while we play games on the Wii together. We have a couple versions of Guitar Hero, and Rock Band, and also have Wii Sports and their Carnival Games

This week, I visited our local thrift store/Christian ministry.  They sell donated items and use the money to help those in the community.  Since it is time to begin swapping out the children’s summer clothing, I decided to shop for pants.  No matter how much buying ahead I do, we never seem to have enough jeans.  I just can’t justify paying $10-15 for a pair of pants.
You never know what you’ll find at a thrift store.  This week, I was blessed with some bargains.  I found 12 pairs of pants for my kids for only $12!  That’s $1 per pair.
