Linda - thanks for the link I will check that out. Words I find very comforting...letters, cards, poems everything. Also in the memories, I still have all the birthday/christmas cards...I love reading them. I struggle to find the right words to speak and I think that is why writing comforts me

As part of a grief counseling center, I come across dozens of people everyday, who are grieving at the loss of a loved one. But, even though I meet these people on a regular basis, yet everytime someone comes up to me, I feel their pain and I try to help them in anyway. One of our most successful programs is the group therapy, with bereavement poems and articles to make help these people get some closure. Some time ago, while I was looking for such content, I came across Linda Angel. The story of Linda's mother's struggle to get a hold on her life, is just too awe-inspiring and extremely motivating. You should visit the website and go through the content. I'm sure it will help a lot of people.

Mary - it was a privilege to publish your words as many of us have those feelings but find it difficult to express the words. Thank you for having the courage to share your thoughts. I agree that to love and lose is so much better than never to have loved at all - despite the pain!

Anna,
How kind of you to publish this. (I don't know what I thought you'd do with it after I sent it to you.) Writing this song was my way of keening at the time. I still miss Michael so much, but the pain is lessening. I continue to be grateful for having known him and for the support of friends, family, and this site. It does help to know that there are others who understand the grief and loss. I firmly believe that it is better to have loved and lost (oh, but what I gained in loving Michael), then to never have loved at all.
Hugs,
Mary
