First of all I will send the details for our Widows Quest support group out on Friday, ahead of the Sunday conversation. Don’t forget to let me know if you want to join in by emailing me at anna@theengagingbrand.com
Yesterday I was at another funeral and they read out a poem called She Is Gone which really made me think about grief and how to cope with the loss of a loved one.
She is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.
Your heart can be empty becuase you can’t see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she’s gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on….

thank you for sharing this wonderful poem. I am still grieving the loss of my fiancee’. It’s been six months since he died unexpectedly of primary liver cancer. We found each other against incredible odds, we lived and loved passionately for one year, to the date he died. I miss him deeply, however in my situation, I had and have my family needing me. I lost my mother 3 months after I lost my fiancee. That was hard. I saw an eagle yesterday. It was beautiful. I hope this year glides as smooth as that eagle. Thanks so much for having this website.
Someone sent me this poem about three months after Dave’s death, the gender was male and it was called REMEMBRANCE, I have read it often and keep trying to live its meaning.

Thanks for sharing this poem. It reminded me of my late mother. Before she died she said to me, “I don’t want you to grieve too long.” I’ve tried to focus on the pluses of having known and loved my husband Michael without canonizing him.
I thought it was wonderful and glad that people enjoyed it….Jean Marie we are thinking of having a telephone session when we can speak to each other for support keep checking the site once we have found a date that works!
